The Voice of the Youth project is seeking to understand the roots of school violence and what it could do to help. To do this, Amari Jones met with several police officers who actively work to prevent violence.

March 30, 2023 – Amari Jones met with Santa Rosa PD officers, Westin Schindler and Jaime Espinoza. They discussed the Montgomery High School situation and the different ways they can make the community of Santa Rosa a better place.

April 3, 2023 – Jones met with San Francisco Police Sergeant, Paul Ospital. They discussed ways to prevent school shootings.

July 6, 2023 – Jones met with the Violence Prevention Partnership and the Santa Rosa Police Chief, John Cregan. As Police Chief, Cregan and has overseen many programs, including the Restorative Justice Program for Youth.

By meeting communities, uplifting spirits, and letting students know that their voices are heard, the Voice of the Youth project is letting the youth know that they are not alone.
