On 9/13, members of the Voice of the Youth Project (Aaron Sanchez, Kevin Wei, and Amari Jones) met with Mayor Natalie Rogers of Santa Rosa. They discussed ways to lower youth violence and open better opportunities for the youth in local communities. They also talked about ways to bring Amari Jones and the Voice of the Youth Project into Santa Rosa, potentially through Santa Rosa City Schools. The Voice of the Youth learned more about what it is like to be a mayor and the mayor’s opinions regarding topics such as School Resource Officers and the March 2023 Walkouts of 2023.

They also talked about exciting upcoming plans for the city. Make sure to look out for new projects that are on the way, such as the Youth Council and more community collaborations between the Voice of the Youth and the City of Santa Rosa.
