On September 12, Amari Jones met with representatives for California State Senator Scott Wiener. In the State Senate, Wiener represents California’s 11th District that covers all of San Francisco.

Since Wiener was in Sacramento at the time, Jones instead talked to members of Wiener’s office in San Francisco. Jones met Elisa Rae Yeung, Wiener’s District Representative, and they talked about student loan debt and youth homelessness. Jones also learned about new efforts to address issues affecting incarcerated communities, including new decriminalization bills.

Yeung supported the Voice of the Youth Project and offered ways to help the project succeed.
